We stayed in one of the smaller rooms (Hastings). The only downside to our stay, if you can even call it that, was that we didn't have any milk in our room for making tea. Other than that the whole stay and experience was fantastic. Thank you so much for looking after us.

We didn't stay here during this visit to Rye but have done in the past and this is still one of our favourites but we did not book in time. Despite being in a pub, the rooms are quiet and cosy. The staff are excellent and breakfast is great. We always make a point to eat here at least once during our stay and it never disappoints. Pie is always a favourite with hubby.

The Standard Inn is way more than an Inn. This was the best dinner we had during our entire England trip, and that’s saying a lot, because everything was great. Awesome atmosphere, great food and enjoyable staff. Definitely stop by for a nice and warm pub feel, with high level cuisine.

Our go to pub in Rye. The staff are always friendly, the drinks and food always great. Love the fact that they don't let their tables get booked out by people who just want to eat and go. 10/10. Love it.

Lovely cosy pub for the winter evenings. Food was OK, nothing overly memorable. Service although very pleasant was slow and all over the place, had to keep asking for drinks we'd ordered, sides didn't arrive and another tables drinks were on our bill which took an age to sort! We were not staying in the hotel.

It is a nice pub that gets quite busy. The food was ok, we had fish and chips, it wasn’t the best we had but good quality and a good portion. The mushy peas were horrible though, watery and tasteless. We were somewhat put off by the “optional” service charge. I’d much rather prefer to be asked if I want to leave a tip rather than be forced to do it since the food prices are already high. Plus you never know whether the service charge goes to the staff or not.

Went for dinner on a busy night in Rye. I’m not sure how there are so many positive reviews. It’s a nice enough pub for a drink but the food is pretty average… burgers were standard and nothing special. Fish was over cooked. Service was uninterested… our daughter spilt a drink on the table in front of the waitress who just stood there uninterested waiting to take our order whilst we ran around trying to get a cloth. We’ve been here a couple of times on the back of positive reviews but won’t bother again… there’s many better places in Rye… and yes a “voluntary” service charge added to the bill automatically… never great but shows why some of the staff don’t care.

The Standard Inn is a great restaurant in Rye. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the atmosphere is cozy. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the town. Here are some of the things that I liked about The Standard Inn: The food was fresh and flavorful. They adjusted the ingredients to my liking. The service was attentive and friendly. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. I would definitely go back to The Standard Inn again. It is a high-quality restaurant that offers a great dining experience. We would highly recommend the fish and chips, the lamb scrumpets and clam linguine. Thank you to Atil who served us that day.
